Etsy Knowledge Base

Before you start trying to locate a member of the Etsy team, it’s always worth exploring their self help tools. As a first option, Etsy provides a reasonably well stocked knowledge base area, which can be found here:

Etsy Help and Knowledge Base

You’ll likely find an answer in the results if you enter a keyword or phrase related to your question.

For example, if you enter “How do I set up my shop?” you’ll see a link to a help article that walks you through the process step-by-step.

Etsy Help Center

If you can’t find what you’re looking for using the general knowledge base search, Etsy also has an additional enhanced Help Center where you can browse articles by category.

The Help Center leads you through a wizard type approach, asking you if you are a buyer or a seller. Etsy sellers should choose the “Selling on Etsy” option at this point.

The next page that appears asks you to classify your question into one of their available categories:

  • Finances and billing
  • Managing my orders
  • Managing my shop and listings
  • Ads and Stats
  • Shipping
  • Your Etsy account

Most of these options will then funnel you into the relevant help article from the Etsy Knowledge Base that addresses the concern or issue you are experiencing.

For example, clicking on the Finances and Billing option and selecting Payment Account Reserve will give you information about this topic.

If this still doesn’t answer your question, you can click the I still need help option from here option, which will take you to a form to email Etsy support.

The current average response time will also appear to give you an idea of when to expect an answer.

Phone numbers for Etsy Customer Support

It tends to be a bit tricky to find the direct phone numbers for Etsy Customer Support as they prefer for you to use their self service support and help options. It is still possible though with some careful googling!

If you’d rather speak to someone on the phone at Etsy HQ, there are ways you can get in touch with Etsy support by phone using the numbers below:

North America: +1-844-659-3879

United Kingdom: +44-800-011-9700

Australia: +61-1800-531-536

As you can see, these numbers are unfortunately only available in certain countries, so if you are an Etsy seller that resides outside of the US, UK or Australia you’ll want to instead try to get your question answered via Live Chat or by requesting a call back (both explained below)

You’ll want to keep in mind that customer support hours for Etsy phone support are generally Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm EST.

Request a Call Back from Etsy

The “request a call back” feature on Etsy is another way to get in touch with Etsy customer support.

The link to request a call back can be found here:

You will need to provide your name, email address, and phone number, as well as a brief description of your issue. Once you submit the form, someone from Etsy will reach out to you to schedule a time for your call.

This is a great option if you need more customized assistance than what is available through the FAQs or forums.

Etsy Live Chat

If you’re a seller on Etsy, another option for getting help is to you use the live chat feature. This option is only available at certain time of the day for select countries and users, so it may be difficult to locate.

Update: As of August 2022, Etsy is trialling offering live chat as a perk of their Star Seller program. In this trial, you should see an option for live chat from your Shop Manager area.

If Etsy has enabled this live chat as a support option for you, you should see a “live chat” icon in the bottom right corner of the page. This will bring up a chat window where you can type your question.

Once you’ve typed your question, simply hit enter and someone from Etsy will respond to you. You may find that depending on the complexity of your question that you will be replied to via the usual email channel.

Tip: You can also use the live chat feature to leave feedback for Etsy or to report a problem. Simply click on the “feedback” tab in the chat window and leave your feedback or report your issue.

Although it is not easy to find ways to contact Etsy support, it’s important to note that they are there should you need them. The best way to contact Etsy support is through the Help Center, and if your question is urgent you can also use the phone or live chat options (if they are available to you).

Etsy has also promised better support options as a part of their recent fee increase, so fingers crossed for more options in the future.
